Personal Décor Wishlist
As a renter, I am constantly browsing Pinterest, and stores for dream items I can buy once I own my own home. Afterall my keen design eye is always on the lookout. While the “shopping” is devastatingly premature, I cannot wait to start shopping for furniture and home décor.
Despite this hastiness, I wanted to curate a list of my own personal décor wishlist for anyone who may need a curated list of ideas for their own home, even if I’m not quite ready yet.

Kitchen
The kitchen is one of my favourite rooms in the house. I love baking and cooking and you really want your kitchen to be a homely, inviting space. In fact, if I ever marry there are so much kitchenware that will end up on the registry. I personally prefer kitchen products to have a stainless steel and black look – a design choice that went heavily into the decision of which coffee machine to buy way back when. I am also a massive advocate for very little bench clutter. I try to put all my appliances away (other than the coffee machine).
Breville Bakery Chef Hub Mixer

As someone who loves to bake I find electric beaters so frustrating especially when they splatter. This mixer has a lid with a funnel so you can add eggs, vanilla, whatever with no mess!
Heller 4 Slice Sandwich Press
Honestly, I miss making toasted cheese and spinach sandwiches. It’s not something you can buy out (at least that I’ve seen) and they are so good.
Wood and Black Silicone Utensils
Although I love stainless steel, I do also love a classic timber look – especially on utensils. I’m not a fan of stainless steel or plastic utensils as I predominantly use Teflon pots and pans and they end up being scratched (especially when someone borrows your supplies. Silicone and wood go together well and look fantastic.
Living Room
I’m not typically one to use my living room other than when entertaining guests. I keep my TV in my bedroom so I can watch shows and movies comfortably. As a result my living room ends up being a place for décor and seating.
Vimle Sofa Bed

I like the idea of having a sofa bed for guests to spend the night on. I am a huge advocate for letting friends and family having a safe space to crash if they need – no judgement. Whether that’s because they’ve had too much to drink or gotten into an argument with someone at home, I want people to know they always have somewhere to go.

I love my knick knacks – I mean I have two full bookshelves dedicated to displaying collectibles, ornaments, and the likes. It’s an absolute dream of mine to have a dedicated cube shelving unit where I can show off my items.

I also have a lot of books as an avid reader and designer both non-fiction and fiction as well as my own artbooks that I need somewhere to store them all. I want a bookshelf that also allows me to store things on top of it, something the half height billy bookcase allows me to do.

Office
I work a lot from home, whether it’s completing my studies or doing freelance work I need to pull out all the stops in my home office. Before the pandemic I didn’t think too much about my desk and chairs however since I’ve been doing more and more work and classes from home I’ve had to rethink my office space. I already have a good, spacious desk with two sets of drawers, so haven’t included them on the wishlist.

I love to have photos, notes, and paper pinned up on my wall so I’ve always dreamed of having a personalised memo board (or a few) where I can nicely display them.
Crafts and Hobbies
As someone who is artsy, I’ve actually recently created a side desk that extends on the right of my desk as a designated craft space. I do hope to one day have my own dedicated room for craft and hobbies.

This desk is perfect for a creative because you can adjust it in a way that is becomes a slanted desk ideal for drawing and art projects, while also having a flat function for other hobbies and crafts like sewing, miniature modelling and Lego.
Fjällbo Shelving Unit

This shelving unit is perfect to store arts and crafts supplies. I love having it readily available for me to walk over and grab whatever I need, whenever I need it.
Bedroom
My bedroom is where I spend a lot of my downtime. It’s where my television is and where I like to winddown for the evening, especially after a long day. I want my bedroom to reflect a calm environment.

I can get quite jumpy when there’s a knock at the door. I would love a video doorbell to see from my phone when someone’s waiting for me.
Yale Assure SL Lock
I recently learnt of this smart home feature, courtesy of my parents. I would love to have keypad access to my home – especially as I forget my keys so often!
Cleaning and Organising
I love a clean organised house; I do not love cleaning and I rarely have time to organise my things. Every few weeks I go on a cleaning spree, taking everything out of place and reorganising it, only to let everything fall in disarray within a week.
Dyson V8 Stick Vacuum
If I have to do a chore I absolutely hate, I may as well have a decent quality machine to do so, especially a cordless version! Besides, investing in a good vacuum cleaner just seems like something an actual adult would do.
Grove Home Essentials
Recently my housemate came home with a grove home essential spray bottle and a eucalyptus multipurpose concentrate. While I don’t love eucalyptus scented items because it triggers my sensory issues, I do love the idea of the Grove Home Essentials. With Grove, all you need to do is select the products you need and they’re delivered straight to your door. Coles does sell the multipurpose bottle and eucalyptus concentrate though. My favourite aspect of Grove is that every product is sustainable and affordable making it a fantastic solution to home cleaning.
Pantry Storage Solution
I am in love with pantry storage solutions especially opening flours, sugars, pastas, and other staples so they are easy access and measured for restocking. The Home Edit Pantry Solution is a starter kit that is completely customisable, and the Container Store also allows you to purchase the items individually so you can build on the kit. It lets you completely adjust the containers to fit your space and needs.
